BRUSSELS - BELGIUM - 7 DECEMBER 2004 --Damaged Christmas tree on the Grand Place--This years Christmas tree is missing branches and are have been bended in the top. As an old tradition the City of Helsinki have over the years donated the big tree. But this year Brussels didn't want a Finnish tree because they are not as wide as continental trees. The City of Helsinki agreed to pay for one from the Belgium Ardennes, which was then damaged during its transport to Brussels. To cover up some of the damage, small trees have been placed around it. The cost of the tree is 3700 euro and according to a spokesperson from Brussels tourist office, it will be a surprise if Brussels sends Helsinki the bill.-- PHOTO: ERIK LUNTANG / EUP-IMAGES
